Heard today that Russel island comp is going to be postponed due to the number of people going to attend (to many) and more time is needed to sort out the finer details for a event of that scale, I'm sure we will here more once it is made official.

Anyways if it is all true then we should not waste the weekend and still try to get a down winder race organized, I'm sure there are enough people out there who will help to get something going. Maybe something like from the top of currumbin creek to out wide in the ocean then downwind to tally creek and up 6 or 7 km to a buoy then back to the tally bridge. That way there's a bit of both flat and waves to mix it up. 2 basic divisions 12 foot and under and 12 foot and over. Maybe work out a handy cap for the 12 foot class so they can still win the whole event, would be pretty easy to work out how far ahead they would have to start. Carton of beer for entry winner takes all.

Just some thoughts not sure how many people would be interested but could work?
