Any one had one of these for any length of time , looking at getting one just interetsed to hear thoughts about them.Im tossing up between it and the psh 12 gun want to race the bop style but aslo want a board i can take out it the bigger stuff.Could you surf the sic in say above 5 ft?.I had a couple of biggish days down the coast and i found my 9'2 pretty hard work , great on the wave but hard getting into them with winds off shore and strong current.

Damn that means ill have to get two new boards , ive just talked the missus into letting me get a 12'6 .Oh well just have to get better at the late take offs

Ill come down and take the 12'6 for a ride in the next couple days.

Don't forget the 14' class either T-Tree for us non 65-75kg guys. That 12'6 SIC looks great though and Jacko and Ang are flying on it.

A 14' is great for training, in and out the surf, some ocean stuff. The swiss army knife of Race SUP. There are some great ones on the market that you can probably check when you take a look at the SIC.

I have a 14' on order at the moment from Dale, plan is to be like the Travis 12'6 SUP stretched to 14'. Can't wait for it, no board at all right now so hanging out.

Sorry to highjack the topic away from SIC and PSH but I just got a 14ft Glide for that very purpose, a bit of training and to do a couple of events if I can. I was surprised how cheap they are. You get a whole lot more board than my 9'3 SV for less $$. I have been doing in"s and out's at the Alley and having a ball. For a 14 ft board it surfs surprising well. I very nearly bought a 12'6 board and tested them all at the recent Roar demo day, most of them felt like they were built for guys like Jacko and Jamie Mitchell, not someone like myself who has a keg instead of a 6 pack. Tea Tree, if you want I'll give you a go, but it won't be anygood for charging big waves, I thing PSH is the winner there. Cheers

teatrea, i'm borrowing one of my old boards at the moment. a cutdown 14' blank that was supposed to be a 14 surfboard, yes a surfboard. anyway it was reshaped with a bit of dw in mind. i have been surfing this '12'6 board. it really will turn and hold speed. most of the 12'6 bops , while they can do some surfing are limited. however, even on this 12'6 mostly surfing shape come bop board, it would need to be a fuller wave.
knowing you, the psh would be more your go. better still- get both

Hey Teatrea,

I think the footage of Laird riding huge waves a Hookipa is on a custom 14 - 15
SUP GUN. Paddle on speed is the reason I guess.



The 12ft gun is great in big waves for bigger 90+kg guys but as Jacko and the boys say board design now means its no longer a competative race board.

Dale Champan custome 14 SUP Race /Surf for my money.
