Ooops, make that Virgin Blue, but now that I have your attention....

Am heading up the coast for a stint with a few mates soon and wondering whether anyone has managed to get a 9'8" on one of the Tullamarine airport buses? Trying to figure out my options as will be getting up there solo and don't have a conspirator at this end to stay with boards dropped off in the terminal.

Much obliged.

Now Tang this is a bit of a gamble but usually it works fine....except in school hols.

Dont take the normal entrance to the long term car park, keep going right up to the intersection with the cross road, turn left and go in the entrance just down a bit. Then you can park right in that corner that's closest to the airport terminals. You can then walk along past the Federal Police straight to Virgin, usually because people do walk to that corner there are even trolleys kicking around there.

If that doesn't work I'm sure you will get it onto the bus, just have to stand there with it. If you are going through Sydney that may be a hassle too because you have to get onto another bus or the train to get to international.

Have fun!

Took 9'4 on Airport bus at tulla but was 5.30am and the bus driver wasnt crazy about the idea. Smile sweetly or give him your WAR FACE GRRRRRRRRRRRRR and either might work

Other option is to park in long term or short term carpark at the terminal to drop boards to Virgin and then move it back later.

Phill.

Sounds like the goods, Jonathon; Phil, not sure about the war face option, as I'll be too stoked to be heading off on my first surf trip in nearly 10yrs.

Then again, I'm off to Angourie, and if the boys up there have become as friendly towards SUPers as a few ageing shortboard has-beens at Posso's have been lately, then maybe I should start practising.

Thanks again, gents, and hope the back is coming along, Phil.
