Was there actually an 'aerial' in there?

If enough young crew get into SUP and they get light enough for the masses, aerials will become quite common on SUPs IMO - without footstraps!!

They're already doing them on PU Mals so it's inevitable. Airs that is not tow assisted Windsurfing tow-ats.

ouch!!!!! my knee and ankle just started to hurt a bit more after looking at that clip

the evolution of sup

i just could imagine the "rant" if this topic was on the kite forum.....yewwwwww....

but thinking about this "evolution of sup" isnt it amazing the weapons that are available now compared to 3 to 4 years ago

i still remember before i got my first board

watching a youtube clip of the 1st goldcoast honolua ultimate sup challenge about 3 years ago and all the boys rippin it up at the alley

and thought hay i might get one of those exon val diesel oil tankers

then while still reminiscing over the ye ol days

i watched one of my old clips on youtube of me riding my ye ol 10'6 naish and trying to turn the big bitch.....i'm still crying with laughter......and i've still got the big bitch too.......

So true Dogman. I've only been into it for 18 months now and the changes in design and performance in that time alone have been massive.

We just need more younger crew with indestructable ankles getting into it

I suspect the jet ski was the on-water camera crew viewed from a helicopter.

There's no need to use a jet ski. He was getting enough air just off the lip to do those flips. It's not as if he was landing any of them. Just having a heap of fun and getting some exposure.

It's amazing that Mike Eskimo is still making money being a pro-water play dude. He was never particularly good compared to the good guys. Just flamboyant and had a hot wife.

Gongsup.com have been using straps on their boards for over 3 years, if you look back through their site content which is quite considerable they seem to have been way ahead of anyone for years.

I've seen a few of Kai Lenny's SUP's that have foot straps on them, I think it is something coming! Don't know if i want a big heavy board attached to my feet, but I could imagine someone light like Kai throwing some nice varials!
