Think it will depend on what airline you go with, am off to Fiji in three weeks and was trying hard to get mine on but Pacific Blue will only accept up to 3 metres in length as baggage. After that you have to send as airfreight. So at 10'8 I am about one foot too big. (Thats what all the girls tell me anyway ). As far as weight goes, think most work to the rule you are allowed 20kgs and a board bag will count towards 5kgs of your 20kgs allotment regardless of the weight.
Reckon there would be endless opportunities as to where, I am hoping to get there next year and go for Dreamlands on a big day.

Qantas only allow up to 270cm (8'10") otherwise it has to go as freight

I had a SUP holiday there in May and it was great. I've been to Bali heaps of times and found that May June is the best time to go. If your after wind as well, July, Aug.

I hired a board from the guys at Kitesurfing Bali in Sanur for a week, they were very helpful.

I did all of my SUPing in Sanur area and found the waves to my liking. Good pic's on the kitesurf Bali web site.
The last day I was there the waves were about 8ft, to big for me.

I'm heading back again next year.

Oh, waves along Kuta beach are sh1t for sweeping.

I just got back from Bali on Sunday,good SUP waves everywhere.
Jankie from Bali Sup's is the best one to talk to,He rents out SUPS and has a good w/site.
Dont think about taking you're sup, everyone was getting stung with excess luggage just with surf boards.
I had good waves at Hyatt reef (sanur) and Kuta reef & Airports are great for SUP's.
