I was just wondering about this...I basically only windsurf, and we had another zero wind day here in Singapore on Sunday... I was thinking it would be cheap and easy to get a SUP paddle and take my windsurfer out for a slog around - better than sitting on the beach watching clouds.
The board I've got has planty of bouyancy - 130 litres - and is about 275cm by 65cm. I don't fancy forking out the cash for a SUP-dedicated board, and storage would also be a problem.
It should be pretty slow on a 2.75m. It might be worth trying someone's longboard for comparison. Of course I could be wrong about this, so you tell me. With paddling you need all the efficiency you can get. You'll appreciate just how powerful a sail is once you've had a go at paddling around.
This is Singapore - flat water only! No waves! Except when a big ship goes by...ok I'll give it a go. Might try it on an old Mistral longboard windsurfer too.
