Hi,

I just got a 11'6 Naish board and I really enjoy it. I will be using it with my 6-year old kid.

It probably won't be long before he wants to paddle himself but the paddles I have come across are all adult sizes.

Has anyone seen kid (6yrs) sized paddles?

Cheers

Rex

Hey Rex
Any alloy plastic canoe paddle will do and they are easy on the rails of your new board

We bought a retractable SUP paddle for out 10 year old - it's still a fraction long for him still but he'll grow into it this year.

For a 6 t.o Boofys suggestion of the canoe paddle is the go. TryeBay for a low cost one.

Hi Rex

I am manufacturing and retailing lightweight wood/carbon Stand Up Paddles in Melbourne and I have just introduced a children's size blade to my patented 'V-blade' range.

If you would like some more information send me a message through seabreeze.

Sleeved Extendable Adjustable Carbon Shafts (SEACS!);
I think this is where the industry needs to go.... So you can adjust your own paddle by up to 4 inches, to deal with surf, flat water, and thicker flat water boards, that make you sit up higher.... so you can own 1 paddle.

And a shorter version of this would suit a 6-12 year old....

OG SUP / Phill might want to post some pics, to show what I mean....

Yes, there are a few things on the market now also. But some are not as simple as Phill's / Kristi's....

Woogie is working on a nice light & simple adjustable number at Kiakaha paddles. Works on a sleeved system. Not sure if it is on the market yet but I had a go of the prototype and it was great.

Alternatively we had one for the nephew that was a plastic canoe blade attached to a timber rake handle!! Just glued a 'T' piece on the top and bob's your uncle. All up about $5 from the local tip!

Coreban are about to launch their new web site - I believe that it should be online within the week. One of the new products that they have available is an adjustable paddle, sleeved like the one JB Mel is talking about.

There are two sizes - Ivan said something about them being suitable for "Mickey Mouse to Michael Jordan".

Here is a sneak preview ...
