Tips for SUP'ing the Bluff.

1. Take a Gun (12' pin tail) for when its big...
2. Take a Gun (of the bullet shooting variety) to protect yourself...
3. Take an armour plated tent to retreat to when trying to protect yourself at night... once you run out of bullets...
4. Have fun, it's a great bit of coastline...

Spent nearly a month there in 87, we stayed in the cave the whole time - eight of us - just spearfishing and surfing, awesome place.

3 of the crew were good goatboaters the rest of us on shorties. We had it about 10 -12 foot faces one day, no one went on the rocks or hit bottom although one of my crazy goatie mates nearly got washed up a couple of times taking off way deep. If its got size you have to negotiate a gnarly shorebreak - on a shortie you jump off the rocks further out in a keyhole. The paddle out would be fine. Just go as deep as you feel comfortable with, helps if your a goofy. I reckon the crew would be the most intimidating part.

I am taking my family up that way next year but will spend more time around Gnaraloo/Coral bay/Exmouth. Better Supping up there from what I have heard.

So in summary - if an infected reef cut, shark, some other nasty spikey venemous reef fish or the locals or dont kill you the wave itself will.......can't wait.

Just had to google what "moniker" and "Lhoste Shar" were .

Never pick me for a trivial pursuit game clearly the only questions I could answer are sports related

Surfed on my shortboard there on my way back from Gnaraloo earlier this year. It's going to be pretty tough with a SUP, especially getting in/out (unless you go from the beach). The wave barrels deep on the inside but is software on the outside. Respect the locals and you should have fun - don't get greedy here!
