Hi All,

The next SUPSA day will be next Sunday 11th April 2010. There are some very important items to note for next Sunday

(1) As we had to postpone the surfing comp from March, we will run this in the morning early and then onto the family day.

(2) We have decided to give all the industry folk the weekend off so there will be no demo boards available at the family day. Don't let this put you off however as all you need to do is contact either Greenline Paddle Surf or Roar Industries prior to the day to organise a hire board. This will have to be at your cost and you will need to abide by any rules and conditions the individual shop owners impose with hiring their equipment.

(3) Due to crowd and parking issues at Palm Beach Parklands, we have decided to move the family fun day to Winders Park. For those that don't know where Winders Park is located, it's on Duringan Street at Currumbin.

Here is the full list of events and times for next Sunday ;

6.30am to 08.45am Meet at a to be advised location for SUPSA Club Round Surf Event. As advised previously, there will be a Mens and Womens Division with points to be awarded to ALL participants for end of year presentations. Need to pull down the comp site pretty quick and then travel to Winders Park.

9.00am to 12.00pm SUPSA Family Day - There will be fun races for the kids (points awarded to ALL partcipants that go towards end of year presentations) and Fun Races / Events. Free BBQ and Drinks will be available onsite.

I think that is it, but if I have forgotten anything I am sure I will be told about it.

Ok, so back to you later in the week for the Surf Comp location but till then, look forward to seeing everyone next Sunday.

Cheers

Due to the huge amount of interest in the Club Round Comp we have decided this morning that there is no way possible from a time perspective that we can run the Family Day as well on the same day. We will move Family Day to May after we run the Downwinder / Distance Paddle.

Format for Club Round on Sunday as follows and EVERYONE WILL SURF TWICE.

•MENS - CRAFT UNDER 9’8”

•MENS - CRAFT 9’8” & OVER

•WOMENS - CRAFT UNDER 9’8”

•WOMENS - CRAFT 9’8” & OVER

Each category will have gradings to ensure fairness across the everyone. Anyone with second thoughts about participating please don't as we are hunting a suitable location that will allow everyone a safe and fun day.

Our aim by running the event in this format is to give all those that participate a fair, fun and enjoyable day. We certainly hope that by participating at these type of events, some people may chose to progress further and start entering some of the bigger name events which will be great for the sport as a whole.

Waeco Alley Classic has just been postponed to 8/9 May due to lack of swell.
Don't know how user-friendly the Alley would be for a Club SUP comp on a Sunday tho...

Thanks Scotty .... we won't be surfing the Alley on Sunday. With the light NW winds predicted would suggest we will be north of Burleigh somewhere.

SUPSA First Round Club Champs

Venue for the first round of SUPSA Club Champs will be at 3rd Ave Burleigh Heads. Registration from 6.15am. First heat in the water at 7am. (We looked at Palmy and Mermaid but there seems to be a great deal of Surfing Club Comps the same day in which these beaches will be packed)

We do prefer if you can nominate in only one category but both may be considered pending numbers.

Only financial members of the SUPSA Club can compete and we will have registration forms available to sign on. Membership is $50 which includes a club T-Shirt, free BBQ at all SUPSA calendar events and insurance coverage of the individual member at a SUPSA meet.

Individual points secured by competitors on the day will be tallied to the other 2 Surfing Club Champs throughout the year to deliver our place getters from each category. This will be announced at our SUPSA Club Xmas and Presentation Day in December,

Format for SUPSA Club First Round on Sunday are as follows
•MENS - CRAFT UNDER 9’8”
•MENS - CRAFT 9’8” & OVER
•WOMENS - CRAFT UNDER 9’8”
•WOMENS - CRAFT 9’8” & OVER

*EVERYONE WILL SURF TWICE.
*and a free BBQ will follow proceedings.

All information and contact details of the SUPSA Club can be found at www.supsa.org

See you all on Sunday!
