the LSD looks good. the 10 foot SA looks like a 10 foot board. sh_t
Scotty-these are just the first ones to come out from Simon, he's gone for some bigger SUP boards to start-Simon is working on further shapes-stayed tuned.
No doubt loco, he doesnt need my approval I am sure. Does great quad short board and will be a part of surfboard history so naturally I rate his shapes highly. Just callin a spade a spade and sure thats 10ers just a cruiser. But like you said, sure some goodies to come.
loco4olas said... Here's a photo of a proto of Simon Anderson's 106 proto:
Demo'd the 10'6" at Mambo, it's 30" wide and 4 3/8" thick. Comes with a 2/3rd's length deck grip single leash plug and the spec sheet says it comes in a 2+1 set up with a 9" centrefin all though the demo board had a 6" in it.
I'll see if I can get a review up in the gear section today.
I saw the big fella (Simon) and Travis (the guy who runs BASE in Sydney) riding Simon’s new SUP’s out in barley breaking Manly yesterday. They both looked like they were having a ball, the boards paddled onto nothing and turned so easily. I think it is great having someone of Simon calibre creating better equipment for the sport rather than just trying to cash in on his name.

Trav surfs alright for a Body Boarder. (personal joke but make sure you stick him in the ribs about it!!)

I'll drink to the Simon comment!
Yeah, there’s not many shop jockeys that can actually walk the walk and not just talk it these days, not like that dark haired little guy that used to work in the BASE store I saw him out in the surf one day and he could barely get off his knees yet he used to tell everyone how good he surfed? I am not sure about the body board call; a chick told me once that she reckoned that body boarders made the best lovers? Long live the king!
There is going to be a demo morning at Collaroy/ Longreef on Sydneys Northern Beaches on Saturday from 6am. Location will be waves / weather dependant. All LSD and SA sup will be available to demo. see ya there
