Has anyone paddled Samoa? Any tips? Thinking of going early May which seems to be a good time.

I've never been but its one place I'd love to go. A good mate of mine is from Samoa so I'll ask him for you.

I had mates that have been there twice. They said the surf can be epic but not as consistent as some of the other spots (Mentawais, Bali, Maldives etc) but not nearly as many people.
They said it sorta sucked a bit as a lot of the breaks needed heaps of water before they were surfable. The first time they went they didn't know and tides really limited their time in the water for the first 3 or 4 days as the wind would come up in the arvo.
Worth looking into though, it's on my list but I have a few other spots I want to do first.

I'm going over on the 24th March for 8 days. Haven't got much info on the breaks yet but judging from the resort's surf report pics it looks like its been pumping and pretty consistent so far this year. I'll be talking to some mates who have been over and getting more info soon so I'll let you know.
