Not sure how this guy got my email, sorta pisses me off that some surf site or company is handing out mailing lists. Anyway...

Quoted from the email...
This new and innovative website www.sharkalarm.com.au will keep you up to date with shark sightings and activities at you favourite outdoor place – the beach. If you want to keep up to date and help the broader community become well informed on shark sightings and beach safety (given the recent shark attacks in Australia we encourage anyone with information on a sighting, new or old to make a report for the good of the community.

Is it just me that doesn't really want to know all the details about shark attacks? I'd rather just go surf.
And "Innovative" is the wrong word.

I spend a lot of time free diving and spearfishing and i see a lot of sharks and half the time i will just see them swim away into the distance, even had a few great whites just cruise in for a look, and in very shallow water too.
I personally would not be too bothered by a shark sighting as i have always had trouble with the sharks i don't see..

Glad to see I am not the only one who cops this. After all the media shark hype my wife was spinning and was trying to tell me I cant surf;
-In the morning
-In the evening
-When its overcast
Luckily it stops when the shark attacks slow down.

Hmmm, my wife sends me out the door & tells me to go for a surf...then again, I do remember her recently getting me to sign an increase for my life insurance.

Flew from Wollongong to the Central Coast last Saturday between 500 - 2000 feet. Thought I would see a couple. Not one heading there and back. Saw a few whales launching skyward. I am sure there are plenty around, but as they say it is more dangerous driving to the beach
