Colas you rip!! You have fun!! You choose excellent music for your video's!! You make extremely poor wetsuit wearing decisions (first video) I was cold just watching you!!!!!Brrrrr. (forgive my poor attempt at humour). I really admire your wife's camera work-well picked up Mr Mullet.. After what I have found to be a very daunting week, you have returned "the stoke" about this forum back to me.. If I decided to withdraw from Seabreeze then I would not have the chance to hear information, watch video's and have friendly differences of opinion with highly articulate, friendly, helpful intelligent people like you and many others. Again thanks for shaing those videos.
Now, what size was that skiffle board you were on?? 5'3 X 42"???? Amazing drop knee take offs???? I think I'm going to have to come over and visit you in France to discuss the possibility of being a distributor in OZ for Gong!!?? At least a franchisee. From what I saw the board you were riding would be a perfect summertime slop board. Obviously not limited to just that.!!! Keep them coming Colas you have at least two fans on this forum (unless you had something to do with the Rainbow warrior???.)
Thanks a lot for all your comments! (from me & my wife)
HumanCartoon, in the first vid the paddle is at my size, but the huge blade make it look shorter than it is. in the second one, it is my size + 1"
Leroy, the small wave board is a 6'8" x 31.5" x 125l (the "One Pro"), you have the details on the Gong site. On importing to OZ, I don't know, you should ask Patrice Guenole. I also think that with all the talented and innovative OZ shapers you should be able to get one to make killer small wave boards too. The trick is not to be afraid to think differently from what is standard in contests.
On the drop knee take off, I found it an useful trick when you feel you are getting behind the "bump" of the wave on take off: bending the knee "lighten" the middle of the board and allows it to "climb" atop the bump ang get in to the wave, plus it makes it easier to keep the nose from rising, stalling the board. Try it, you will be surprised!
TheGoodDr: well, as you can see from my waistline, I love food too :-)
