Slightly off topic but also slightly on. One percent of stand up paddlers give the rest of us a bad rep by snaffeling every good wave that comes through because they can. The other ninety nine percent of us give stand up paddleing a bad rep because we catch waves that nobody else can, because we can, and they bloody well hate us for it!!!! Go figure?
Cheers

Yeah go figure, dogs lick their nuts "because they can" and no one hates them.

Yeah, I know that I was drunk last night and this is my recollection. I was having a discussion with Makaha that kind of got heated for a bit, but in the true aussie spirit we were mates at the end and went to bed. I know I wrote some stuff about some forum people being dead to me, and from what I recall these posts and one by OG sup almost agreeing with me and some by Makhata were removed.

I know I only have one login and couldn't imagine that Makhata or Phil have more than one login - so what gives Laurie? What important forum action did I miss?

Oliver,

1) The discussion was between you and Makaha

2) I removed my own post as it did not align itself with the topic.

3) I only agreed with your statment on people being under equiped to surf certain waves on the equipment they choose. Not any of the other comments. I will be posting a topic Dont Take A Knife To A Gun Fight which will reiterate my point.

4) I also took offence to your post regarding BP Makaha etc.

Phil, from what I recall, I wrote that (some nameles persons on the forum) were dead to me - which they are, posted it, looked at it and promptly deleted it.

Somehow in that split second Makaha picked up this post and quoted it. No big deal. Who really cares if you or someone takes offense at what I or anyone else writes here - I'm not defaming anyone - just spitting out what I think at the time. AFAIC It's all done within the spirit of the forum and without malice, and I would be the first to apologise if I really upset someone.

It's a good thing we can retract some of our more controversial posts. What I'm wondering about is this thing about people posting under different logins. I didn't see that.

Oliver to clear the air,I took offence to a few of your comments in your post.
Although too many beers on board I could not explain the reason why.Hence log man,PT and some of your comments referring to not understanding my points.
The main point was you appeared to show no respect to the shortboarder in my opinion and lost my way in rage, I am a very reserved type of person, its clear that some forum users do not come from a surfing background which is obvious in their posts and think they are pioneers of the ocean because sup'ing a newish sport.I struggle with that. Also the term boys club is referring to a group who always jump on the band wagon to shout particular forum users down, guess there's safety in numbers.I also have a problem with that because its a forum and some people hold back in fear of loosing forum buddies,I believe in freedom of speech and saying it as it is.
Is it ok when you refer to someone as died as you did to me,not sure how the other guys feel.I will be much happier when people stop using the Hawaiian terms Waterman and Aloha,we live in Australia not Hawaii,as I said surfed in Hawaii for a number of years and there is not much Aloha in the water in some parts, dont lock your hire car up,they just smash the windows around the north shore.

have a nice day
PS,sorry if I offended anyone the other night

Good read Oliver ,however this shortboarder was obviously a kook and you a hero surfer from city Victoria starts calling the shots, sad world.wish i was there.and to call someone a waste of space (geez)

What ticked me off ? you said the following, big left( wank on).fat waves(for girls)
plan the chase (you hunter you)tore past him (really amazing)stink eye (harden up)party waves (where did you read that)pumped piss(have another drink)respect(learn it,earn it,you lost lost mine)
because you and your mate Al would not catch jack all here.

sorry i find your post very disrespectful to the surfing community and you said aloha(ever been there) go and see the aloha spirit (good luck)you wont get a wave.
HTFUH

Makaha, you lost me in the bolded part where you bagged someone for referring to a break by the name that it is traditionally known. What next? No more Bell's Beach, Winky Pop, et al, because the names don't live up to your NSW sensibilities? What an odd post.

I am not sure but possibly Makaha was thinking he was refering the size of the wave and not the name...hence thought the guy was talking up the size = wank on? I could be wrong

It was me/doggie. I'm supposed to choose one login or the other per forum and stop "replying" to my own posts as doggie/Legion.
