Hey mate.....yep, car damage sux - it's a one piece grill / bumper so will costalotta to fix no doubt.....felt crap after killing wildlife too.

I went back post surf and buried it.

The paddle is unreal - The Naish carbon / glass paddle is big for sure but feels great in the surf - I picked up the new carbon / glass one too - for the money, it has to be the best on the market for sure at $200 odd....light as with the new T grip.

Glad you liked the vid - maybe boring for some but after 20 years of chasing waves, I'm just enjoying the peace of the paddle in my surrounds.

Whoa, how fun is that!! What a beautiful place!
At soon-to-be 56 years old, I just don’t have the drive or desire to compete in a crowded lineup anymore, and your video pretty much captures what it’s all about for me these days ( minus the wetsuit ).
Mahalo for posting such a great video.

Thanks mate - totally got my angle.....after surfing with crowds and ego's for too many years, this for me is just an ideal way to stay tuned into 'surfing' and escape life's trials and tribulations and just appreciate nature, the ocean and a damn great activity all at the same time - stoked with your reply - thankyou.

BTW - surfed it again this morning from pre-dawn for 90 minutes and didn't see another person the whole session - if they knew what they were missing out on huh !

On a tide of over 1.6 go in behind the sandspit at Mainbar and follow the inlet and it opens out into a beautiful untouched bay, really pleasant spot to just cruise

Surfed the bay Friday arvo and while it had a nice size to it the onshore was up, the tide was pushing in and got a few good ones knowing today would be the day

Left Laguna St at7am and returned at 11am...Surfed the Bonnie Vale right hander, love that wave on the sup, long long waves especially when the tide dropped right out

Beautiful day, fun sized waves that went forever into the bay

Once again the jetskis ruined the outer left bank in the middle of the bay, dead set, I am really beginning to take a real dislike to these idiots

Anyway back tomorrow for some more fun...This go pro thing looks good, how much are they?

Might see you out there

OK....the 12'6 Dale Chapman SUP was friggin' hard work today.......V bottom and rockin' like a horse even on glass. Maybe I'm a kook...maybe these boards are harder to ride than the flat bottomed SUP's I'm tuned too ? But one thing, my god it picks up ripples.....glides into swell much better than the 14' Glide or Laird Coastrunner that's for sure.

I've got some work to do obviously. Still fun though.

Here's a lil' vid I took of the session.

Nice.. Most flat water race boards are a bit tippy at first unless you're a flyweight or have the balance of a cat..

Mate, you're making me miss home. I've been living in Canada for the last couple, SUPing cold arse weather up here haha. I can't wait to get back home and get out on the Port Hacking. I haven't even had a chance to SUP back there yet. I remember years ago tearing up bay surf on the surf skis, I think I need to be sent home!

Can you stand where you're surfing? I don't think I ever saw your head go under..
