Hi Rod
I too agrree with your thoughts I would like to come down that weekend but as its in the week I cant get off work
I have a small solution its not a state Tittle but a good training weekend
As you know Scotts Head Surf club is holding there paddle weekend again on the 23rd and 24th of June
long distance and Bop
but I have been thinking of holding an expreesion session for sup surfing somewhere on the 11km of beach we have at Scotts head between the 2 other events ,plus we should be able to find a bank to our selves
So if any guys want to get invoved there will be no cost for the expression session maybe make a donation to the club note sup races are $25 each with a free snag and drink and $5 goes into prize pool so where not after making money just trying to get a group of paddlers and sup surfers together
Pirros may be comming down and I may run it, as Im a clubie (but sup surf )I dont have a clue when it comes to judging sup surfing ,so it may work Im sure he woulntd mind if other guys helped
I do hope the event at One mile gets heaps of guys and wish surfing NSW all the best,
hope to see you at Scotts Head

I know I just posted this under another heading but then thought it my be a second topic I am not trying to put down Surfing NSW in any way I am just trying to get across my point of view.
If I combined the cost of joining Surfing NSW $60 and the entry for Comp$55 with the cost of Day care for the grom $90 x 2days plus after school care for my Daughter $22 x 2 plus 20hrs leave from work because its Thursday and Friday it adds up to me no being able to attend!!!
As for being on week days not to upset the locals then we are allways going to be playing 2nd fiddle to what others would call mainstream surfing!!!!!
They do not hold the shortboard or Mal titles mid week...
And Surfing titles should be held in locations that are know for having Good to Great waves so the Surfers can show the highest level of there skills (I am not trying to put down One Mile) But since the dream tour became the dream tour by having the events at great locations at the good time of the year the sponsorship dollars have increased hugely..
If anyone else can remember the 80,s with pro surfers grovelling in 1 foot slop because thats where the sponsors wanted to hold the event not the Surfers!!!!!It made surfing look like ****..
They would not be struggling for numbers if they held State and National titles at Snapper or Cresent Heads or Nth Narrabeen it would allow us to show case how fars SUP has progress!!!!! We are surfers and should be treaded us such!!
Thats just my thoughts though!!!!
