Stopping the white water tow

Was out today in 3-4ft (which for me on a sup is large) when I got totally worked. The board towed me for what felt like an age but in reality was only 10 or 15m. I didn't particularly enjoy this, so wondering if anyone has got and tips to stop being towed?

How long is your leg rope?longer legropes will hold u down for longer I believe shorter legrops 7 or 8 foot in that size of wave your sup'n are the go depending on what size board u ride i guess...or try to do as Juddy said
