The event this month is a surf comp. Heats and finals.

We are starting a tally system for points which will run September to September for club champion. You score points at each event based on your place.

We are going to oscillate between SUP race (either BOP of DW) and surf comp.

Venue will be between Kawana Surf club and the light house. Most likely Churches.

Nearly everyone's membership is due. We are moving to September being the month that everyone is due. Those who joined in the last few months have until September next year on their current membership. This will make administration easier by having one month when existing members are due.

We are also moving to a Paypal system of paying so that payment is easier. I will have info on this latter this week.

Remember you get a $10 discount on membership if you go in the upcoming BOP Race. This is to encourage members because if we make it big this year the event sponsors have promise much more $$$ for prizes next year.

Also those who are not current members but intend to go in the race, your membership entry/fee entitles you to go in all club events. Would love to grow the crowd and the friendly competition.

Change of Plans (maybe)

Bring both your Surf Board and Race Board.

The west winds have taken the size out of the surf . For this month we may change to a BOP Race and do the surf the comp next month. Have to wait to see what the swell brings.

The club day will be on Sunday 11th of September.

Venue: Churches at access 203 Buddina.

Format: BOP Style Race or SURF COMP.

Time: 8:30am Start. Don't be late

As the club has moved to a September to September club year the following is the format and structure.
The club will alternate each month from a Surf Comp one month to a BOP or DW the next month. Points will be awarded each month to participants and this will lead to a club presentation in 2012.
We will have Club Champion for Surfing and a Club Champion for Racing. We will also have a Grand Champion for the people who have the highest tally.
There will be 4 divisions to compete in for the championship points even though we will run all groups together per gender.

Over 40 Women
This should promote club participation as if you miss a month it will effect your tally.
