On Sunday June 6 there is a big 'Walk for MS' day here in Melbourne.. www.mswalk.org.au/

It's a fun walk around Albert Park Lake and it's to raise money for MS.

I'm thinking we could do it as a team.. Team SupVic.. We could paddle laps of the lake together.

I'm thinking 20 paddlers each getting $20 in sponsors will raise $200.. that's not bad.. Maybe we can do even better than that.

Tomorrow I will look into the whole paddle on the lake thing and see if they will let us.. Fingers crossed.

Anyone else keen?

Yeah I'll have a go DJ.
If you speak to organisers/promoters make sure you let them know we (SUP Vic Members) have
full public liability and accident cover.

I might have to paddle with my kid on the board Fireman Dave style, but what the heck.

I'm in, make sure you wear your Crocs though. I used to sail on Albert Park Lake when I was a kid and they always told us to wear shoes because of the broken glass on the bottom, it's only about a metre deep in places. Sounds like fun.

We might struggle to tag onto this event but we could probably organise our own paddle for a charity.

See how you go DJ.

I'm getting close to an answer about this.. It's still looking good at this stage.

It's looking more like it will be a social paddle for those who want to join me and make a donation to the MS event.

We will need to sign amenity forms and we will be restricted from paddling in some areas of the lake.. but that's cool.

So Melbourne'its keep June 6th free for what might be you only chance to paddle on Albert Park lake.. and help raise some money for a great cause.

Paddle start time will be 10.30 sharp and last about an hour.. and BBQ etc after.

Oh yeah.. Wear something red..

Sounds great. I will be working and I will bring the big red firetruck and support the cause. May even be able to sneak in a lap.

Sounds good Dave.

The amenities may need signing for, but I think you mean we will have to sign indemnities...ie if we cut our feet up, that's our problem and not theirs.

Trying very hard to convince 6 year old that it will be fun. She said she's checking her schedule and will get back to me.
