Don't you love those surf sessions when ...
The waves are awesome, the penny has dropped & everything seems to fall into place!!
I've been into Standup for just under 10 weeks now (out every day, sometime more).

Had a morning surf on the SUP before work which was pretty good (a little chilly in a springy though), offshore, sun coming up, mist rising from the water & lines of corduroy to the horizon (although tide was full & waves a little fat).

Had an ordinary day at work, it looked windy all day & thought the waves would be blown out but had to check it out on the way home anyway.

The waves ended up being great, cleaner & better than the morning, swell had hung on (3ft maybe 4ft on the sets?) & although also highish tide they were breaking well (still a little fat initially but made it perfect on a SUP to paddle into them early). So raced to get my wetsuit on (so much so a walker going past joked to hurry up as I was missing the waves) & got out there.

Paddled out without falling off (for a change), timed it right in between sets & kept my hair dry. Took off on my 1st wave (a larger set wave that was nice to paddle into), got some hoots from some of the prone surfers for making it. Got some nice turns in, stayed upright at the end into sort of a channel paddled back out totally buzzing then a prone surfer said nice wave.

Now I've got my legs, next wave similar size set wave, nice bottom turn, went up & down the wave with a few nice feeling cutbacks (they were probably kooky but felt good to me, thanks to Termite for the tips on the weekend). Paddled back out, totally stoked again, then proceeded to get more great waves, I sat down between sets, tried to let lots of waves go thru but may have been near the surf Etiquette limit (I just couldn't help myself sometimes & just went for the waves that I was perfectly positioned for on the inside?)

Anyways I had a blast, Board (Starboard 9'8 Element) was going great, heaps of speed to make all the sections, held well but has loosened up due to fin changes (I've been playing fins the last few weeks, pissed of the large centre fin & plastic sides that came with it, using a fcs fin box adapter with a G-AM centre & JS-1 on the sides. I was using H-2 large on the sides but snapped one of them on Sat on the low tide).

This arvo everything just seemd to work, I didn't fall off once, dry hair session, got some awesome waves & really worked on my bottom turns & cutbacks. I've still got a grin ear to ear ~3 hrs after.

Sorry about the length of my rave but I'm Super Stoked & just had to share (I also rang my prone surfer mates (who missed it) on the way home to share my stoke). Sorry no photo's.

Great post Worl, nothing better than having a great surf. Makes you surf again tomorrow. You take your buzz with you into the next day, before you know it you're up every day at 5am and surfing regardless. You get better again and surf more and more. You lose some flab and you get even better.

1 great surf can do so much for the quality of life you lead.......
