Anyone SurfMonking and wearing these? .. www.surfmonk.com/

I'm not sure if they're casual surf wear or just something you put on while your wet to dry off.

I've already been told I look like Jesus walking on water.. Imagine wearing this..

If you wear one whilst changing on the beach then thats one thing but wearing one as casual wear whilst out may be a bit hard to stomach.

Anyone remember the snuggie add where the family were at some sort of sporting match wearing snuggies? Like gregc said wearing one at the beach while you get changed or at home on the couch is one thing, but public really?

SurfMonk is all about quality, functionality, value and luxury...you can wear your SurfMonk robe everyday after your sessions, keep it in your trunk for a month, it will not get funky. We mill our own bamboo cotton velour fabric and we use no pesticides! Wash it everyday...you are only going to get a softer more comfy feel, it is 70% bamboo which is one of the strongest fibers out there. The hood is oversized to keep your head warm, the pockets sewn deep to keep your stuff in and the hemp ties will keep the coolest wind at bay. Not trendy, never in fashion, never out of fashion. SurfMonk is a quality purchase for the discriminating SUP, surfer, boater or anyone who lives the SurfMonk lifestyle. You will enjoy your SurfMonk for many years of swells to come!

So much material ! it would be like a spinnaker on a down wind run, just open your legs and of you go.
That's if you didn't drown when you fell in.

70% bamboo? Is that the hollow bit in the middle of the stalks? I remember way back in the 80's wearing similar gear made out of that synthetic chamois stuff we all wipe our cars with nowadays. I think it was made by RipCurl or OceanPacific. Loved it to death. But then again, that was the 80's when my favourite sail was all pink and green neon.

hmmm, anyone herd of ugg boots? Crazy looking footwear that looked like slippers? Its all about comfort, feel, quality of manufacturing and lifestyle. Not perfect in every situation yet I live in mine! Same as my Surfmonk robe, the first thing I put on in the morning or when I am heading to the beach! Going on 3 years now and it still looks and feels better than when I first bought it! I am a believer!

Tera lol that almost sounds like a plug lol. Ugg boots (invented in Australia btw and stolen by the Yanks) go through cycles of being fashionable, except with our bogan sisters who will throw them on every winter with spray on jeans. I say its about time that we all hardened up. A towel was all that generations of surfers needed to get changed into lol. I say throw off the shackles that bind you to your surf monk I say become a towel monk.

I say f***k the towel, just go bare-arsed when changing! Been embarrassing my kids for years, .

But, I have to say, a few windsurfers here seem to use them. It makes sense if it's cold, windy, wet etc....which is Melbourne winter windsurfing and, often, surfing too.

I'm a big fan of my Poncho Towel, but it definitely didn't cost $200 (plus trans-Pacific postage).

I just can't help but imagine what those ladies have on underneath

I like the idea. I just go bare arsed as well but trying to teach my 10 year old daughter to just drop ya gear in public doesn't sit that well with me..

Price is a bit stiff, especially considering she will grow out of it in no time..Is there anything similar cheaper closer

Yeah, both ION and FCS do Poncho towels for grown-ups, IIRC about $35-40, and at my kids' swimming school there are kid-sized poncho towels everywhere, shouldn't be too hard to find one in 10yo girl size.

come on guys your so critical. I reckon you could easily get your money back on these things. slip one on, sit in a shop doorway with a tin can and watch the money roll in. Or tour around Tibet or Nepal and not have to buy food.
I definately wear ugg boots (emu, australian owned and made)

Got to love the long white "Wedding Dress" model, just the thing for a cheap as shotgun wedding. Or perhaps they make one in Black and White for collingwood fans, ideal to soak up the tears

Surfmonk is locally designed and manufactured in my hometown of Malibu CA and yes I am a fan. They have baby to adult sizes and my kids last about 3-4 years in each size. Its all about quality and feel and will not get scratchy and limp with wash, like the other towel changing robes (which I have tried and soon had to toss) for mentioned.

Why do you think that PCH is one of the most dangerous roads to travel...too much beautiful a** being shown getting out of their wetsuits.

SurfMonk gives huge sponsorship for being such a small company. Team SurfMonk was #10 in 58 teams in the 2012 SUP Battle of the Paddle in Doheny Beach CA, we sponsor our local high school's surf team, the Sharks, which made it to the nationals this year. Every SurfMonk customer has their choice of our oceanic causes, to donate 5% of their purchase, to go to either Oceana, Heal the Bay, Surfrider Foundation, NRDC. Check us out and then tell us what you think. If SB needs sponsorship or giveaways, we are in.
