Just answering a question that was sent to me regarding surfshapes deck grip. Hope you dont mind me answering it here.

The deck grip is very light and soft, feels really nice underfoot, It looks great , and looks better In real life than In any of the pics. I had all Intentions of putting on a creatures deck grip before I got the board thinking It may not be that good, but It is
I did comment once to Robdog that I thought It was a bit slippery and my wife commented on this on her first surf on it as well, we soon realised it Isnt at all slippery It Is just we are so used to the raised edges on the 9 6" naish. It actually feels better under foot than the Naish one because It Is softer. AS far as wear and tear goes I couldnt tell you yet as I havnt used It for long enough. I like the deck grip and think It is well made

Does it come in other colours? Black is the only colour I've seen IIRC and that could be a problem in our tropical sun

Sorry Lobes,
I meant to answer that question yesterday. I only source the EVA from a local national retailer and they have mainly black, a pink, some white and a pale orange, the colour changes with every delivery. So I use black. I can source EVA from the gold coast but their web site does not show much variety either. I plan to check them out next time I am up that way. I think EVA is an imported product.
Black seems to be fine for decks, I only make the pads approximately 1200mm long x 650mm wide and they are in the water and wet if your surfing them, you just have to turn the board upside down when on the shore, thats why I like white bottoms.

I use a carpet contact cement, normal stuff and thin it with air dry acrylac thinners. Spray thru a spray gun. You have to wait till the contact is touch dry before putting together.
