We're running a demo day at Long Reef or Collaroy (depending on conditions) to celebrate the introduction of C4 and Dale Chapman designs to Sydney.

Dale will bring a range of boards from 8'10" customs through to his 16ft downwind machines for Sydney folk to have a crack on. Simon from C4 will hopefully have a new locally built custom epoxy 9'3" to show off along side the stock production C4 beauties. Should be something for everyone.

We'll also have our regular demo range of Naish and Starboard demo SUP's so there'll be no shortage of boards to check out.

The demo will start at 8am on the 25th and we'll keep you posted through Seabreeze on final venue as conditions for the day become clearer. Other option is call the shop on 9971 0999.

Cheers,

Sam.

Yoooue. Can't wait.

Seabreeze predictions at this stage are sunshine, light-ish NW winds all day and a 1.5-2 metre ESE swell running. Looking good.

Any clues who's made this board?

Any idea on the range of C4s that will be available to ride?

Have you guys got the C4s in the shop yet?

Simon might chime in with some more detail but I'm pretty sure there will be the 9'3" Sub Vector custom and production boards.

As for what we'll stock in store, I'll use this Saturday as a bit of a demo day for myself. Should come away with a good plan for Winter and next Summer.

Hope to see you there.

Sam.

Cool, thanks Sam-will definitely be there-very much looking forward to getting a ride on a few of the shorter C4s (and the 903 Naish).

Dogman tells me he can fit 11 SUP's on the roof of his car but am yet to see the photographic evidence but I will try and match the Dogmans effort for the trip down the F3.

Currently there is: 9'0, 9'3subvec, 9'9slingblade,10'0, 10'0BK, 10'6, 14'VorticeXP, next generation C4 inflatable prototype & maybe the 19'pene.

Dale will have some of his sub 10' range of boards as well as his raceboard babies, the 12'6 & DC16 and I've heard a rumour of a casso signature model as well fitted with strategically placed GoPro mounts to a give a panoramic footage of all the action.

Sam will keep you all up to date with the exact location and hope to see you all there!

OMG! how exciting is that? and on my day off from looking after my little one too :-)
couldn't ask for more, i'll definetely be there.

sam, do you know if there's buses going to both of these locations? as i won't have own transport to get up there from manly. Long Reef is closest to your shop right?

can't wait.

Not wanting to drop in-once you get to their shop it's an easy walk to either location-or, I'm sure there'll be no issue with getting a lift with someone from the shop to the chosen location.

Weather looks good with some swell and offshore winds.....

Just got stock in of some more new Starboard's earlier this week and will put some on for demo on the weekend.

In addition to the 11'2" and 10'5" we'll have the new 8'5" x 30" Pocket Rocket and 9'8" x 30" Element on demo.

See you Saturday.

Sam.

HI Guys,

Unfortunately due to 8ft sucky closeout barrels we are moving the demo to Fisherman's/Brownwater beach. There's a wave on down there that should give people a better chance to see what the boards are all about.

Give me a call on 0407913394 if you're unsure where to go.

Sam.

Huge thanks to Sam (Wind Surf and Snow) and Simon (Newcastle SUP-C4) for putting in the effort with the demo day today. Conditions were very challenging with a fresh NW breeze and plenty of chop-made demo'ing the 810/903 boards all the more interesting.

I paddled:

a 903 C4 Sub Vector (non-production/semi-custom model);
a 903 Naish tri fin
an 810 Dale Chapman waves board
a 906 Slingblade (I think-I recall it felt pretty narrow at 26" or 27"-Simon may confirm what it was)
a 903 PSH Ripper (compliments of Casso)
a 1206 Dale Chapman downwinder

My interest was in demo'ing the smaller wave orientated boards as that is what I'm after.

The conditions were not really in any way ideal for getting a feel for how the boards would ride-more an indication of how they would paddle in difficult windy conditions-where, to get up wind to the break, you had to lie down and paddle part of the time as the wind was so strong it would blow you (well me) backwards.

I really enjoyed trying all the boards and would definitely recommend to anyone that has the opportunity to try different boards to do so-they really do all respond and ride so differently (again as limited as the demo was due to the conditions).

Again, a huge thanks to the guys for their generosity in spending their time and their trust in lending out the boards-look forward to the next day!

Yeah, a great day despite the unfavourable conditions.

I rode/paddled:

- DC 8'10" : unreal, little, performance board with heaps of speed, great stability and nice thinned out rails for powered carving (see photos below).
- DC 12'6" : beautiful glide and awesome downwind speed.
- Naish 12'0" Glide : great stability and good speed.
- DC 16'0" : incredible glide and surprisingly good stability.

I had about 2.5 hours in the surf at Collaroy on the DC 8'10" (sorry, no photos or video) and only a few minutes on the others on flat water.

I met Dale on Friday night and got a peek at the little 8'10" rocket. He hadn't gripped it up yet so I said I'd take it home and whack some on. Here's what it turned out like:

an unreal board!

Massive thanks to Sam, Dale and Simon for putting the day on.

I had a paddle on the DC 810 and it was a very sweet board-would REALLY like to ride it in good waves and smooth conditions-just not possible at the demo day. On a general note I was really impressed with the shape and finish of the DC boards generally. Sitting on the 810 out the back-it felt like a scaled up surf board-with rolled deck, refined rails, nice curvy planshape and smooth constant rocker with a good amount of nose lift for late takes offs (as you'd likely need to do on a shorter board).

Aussie made too.

Sounded like a good event, but it must have been windy! Sam, thanks for the text, I was in Newcastle for the weekend playing golf - 80 kph winds made it tough!

Will have to pop over and demo a shorter board!

We had the WIND & the SURF but thank god we didn't get the SNOW!

A great day Sam and it was an honour to have you invite us down for the demo to meet up with everyone and have some fun!

Casso, sorry mate but your board only made it an hour up the road before it was snapped up! Maybe you 2 will catch up again at the xbox

Yeah, I know. I was hoping Dale would still have it by the time I had saved up enough to buy it off him.

And now it's gone forever.
But he's still got the specs on file.
