Without sup'ing TOS,but longboardered the place, shorter is the way to go in any sucky beachbreak!
Ask Piros or Jacko,Jacko charges everything on any surfcraft

mate, i surf my name sake at currumbin, its not in the same league as tos, but can have its moments of being shallow and long. i much prefer there then the point. if you get the take off early-ish its a great ride . i would think the top end guys would kill it at tos. i wouldn't mind seeing woody jack out there, ex yamba boy

The Bombie or Deadmans is great for the sup but getting to it is the problem , it always works best on an out going tide , paddleing out the seaway through the tidal surge is hell , so take a boat and anchor. It' very shifty making it hard to sit in the right spot , thats how Ross snapped his 10-0 C4 he got caught inside just standing there and it broke on his head.Take spare leg ropes and box of band-aid's and it helps to have a mate on a jet ski to pick up the pieces.

The TOS beach break is DEFINETE no go for sup's , the waves come through fat and suck you in...... and then it sucks dry and you will break you board and skull every time , I tried to sup it over the long weekend and there was no way I could make a take off.I ended up picking up slooshy waves off the North wall but even there I bounced off the bottom a couple of times.

One place that is safe and easy is inside the seaway in the front of wavebreak , little 2ft waves sneak through on the out going tide , I had a ball over the long weekend on my 12-6 getting 50 to 80m rollers right to the beach , unfortunatelty it's also a favorite spot for the jet skies , they chop it up but generally they keep a safe distance. It' also a great place to catch boat wakes and dolphins hang around there as well.

Yeah Miko,
Have been over a few times. Twice when it has been pumping. Paddle way up past the Bay View Banks and dropped into some bombs. Copped an absolute flogging aswell. Never got abused although a few curious $#@! off looks from the regular crew. I guess its like anywhere mate, stay out of the way and abide by the gentleman rules. Word of warning, choose your waves carefully as its not fun paddling back on an out going tide!

Yeh interesting to hear , how many walks up the beach did ya have?
Yeh i figure it is only a matter of time that guys as they increase there skill level and get into it for the challenge. Seeing other threads and pictures of guys fully slotted tells me that someone will be crazy enought to go. IMO with selected conditions and wave selection a bloke would have a blast. It is a great wave IMO , but can be a nasty mother all the same.
