Hey Jeremy,

I'm pretty sure there aren't any hire places in Tassie.
We are a bit small and most stuff is ordered for immediate delivery, so not even shop stock to "take for a test run".

Sorry

However if I'm wrong it would be so cool

I think this link will give you Brian Hughes' contact number - awesome guy and a wealth of knowledge. If you have any trouble getting in contact with him, PM me and I will track down his number for you.

theres as guy in bicheno on the east coast about 2 hours nor east of hobart ,who rents them out i think ,magic spot even better when the surfs pumping, but all in all tassie has'nt really caught on to the sup craze, so really it's paradise for the stand up explorer

i may be wrong but i thing the Red Herring surf shop in hobart may do rentals or if not they would be able to sort you out with who does. They are affiliated with a surf school that i think has SUP's

sounds good mine should be here soon

I can see a southerly starting at goats and ending 7 mile, with a bit of swell it could be very fun, easy and fast

Hey fellow Taswegians, great to hear there are a few more SUP riders getting about in Tas. There are about 10 of us now on the NW coast! It might be time to have a fun event and do some downwinders soon. Coles bay to Swansea in a NE could be fun.

If anyone is looking at getting a downwind board, I have a Naish 12ft glide AST for sale in the buy and sell that would be perfect for someone wanting to get into their 1st downwind board at a great price. Asking $950 but very negotiable. I have a 9ft Naish mana there as well for $1200 but again very negotiable for anyone wanting something more high performance in the surf.

Give me a call 0417 144 994 keen to catch up with more Tas Suppers

I can drop off in Hobart too.

We kind of have one forming inside the Tasmanian Kitesurfing Association because those of us who started it are all now mad keen on SUP. We could spin something off though. We have just ordered an inflatable buoy to do a BOP race around too when we have a Sup event! Keen to do more soon.

We have our inaugural "Bruny Island" kitesurfing event on the 25th and 26th of November and there will be lots of us there with sup's looking for a wave or some fun if the wind does not come to play. You would be welcome to come along. Details are on here http://www.tksa.org.au/

I think there is even a Sup video there somewhere.

Cheers

Careful FoS, soon you'll be awesome too and the only good your windsurfer will be is to use the mast as a slider to kite over.

Just kidding plenty of water down here for windy surfers too.
