Good to hear that there are a few SUPs down here! :)
I can't believe I missed last Monday, had to go to Melbourne :( I think anywhere was going a bit silly, but pretty much all of the points north of Orford were giving one of those days that only happens a handful of times a year.
The point in Swansea (Waterloo Pt) gets a couple of people out when it breaks but most head down to Rubbish Tips which is the next headland down, but even still, you might be talking about 6 people! :) There are a few other spots further south, Kelaroo Pt, and Christmas Island so you never really see too many people even when it does break.
There are a heap more breaks between Bicheno and St Helens but I'm not too familiar with them so don't know how they would go with the SUP.
I think I'll head down the long way and take a look for the last of the warm weather on Thursday and Friday. Will hopefully get a few photos as well.
The advantage of SUPing in Tassie is when it is 6ºC and the winter swell is pushing up, at least we'll be warmer than those lying down on a short plank in the freezing water!
