Just went out for a short time in Sandringham - down from SHQ to give the board a test - the conditions were pretty miserable all weekend. It's protected there from Southerly and Westerly winds.
Oliver, real nice board,shame your fashion does not match. As a queenslander,I would like to know, why the booties (grip) long wettie pants,but why the tee shirt? It's got to be warmming up down your way!

haha Oliver, don't worry about the hair cut,the saying goes like this! Not a good cut,maybe a week or two,but if its as bad as you say add two more weeks and NEVER go back to the guy who made you duck for cover until you can fix the damage!
Still a great looking board,next time keep your head out of the shot until you recover!

Did you paddle the Stonker out into the swell on Sunday to see how it handled chop and wind blown waves? (I tried the Naish 9'6" down the coast for several days last week and it was great for paddling and great for wave riding and crap for hanging around waiting for waves in wind blown slop.)
Greg, I've also tried the Naish 9'6" and the Stonker felt significantly more stable than that. The last thing I wanted was a board that was a struggle to just stay balanced on in the slightest chop.
I didn't paddle very far past the point as I didn't have a leggie on and wasn't sure if I would get back or not.

I got it cut in Coolangatta in the mall near the pie shop. It was 4:00pm and I was waiting to fly back home when I walked in, he was closing the door and said something under his breath. He didn't even use scissors, no attempt at styling, layering or anything fancy - he pulled out the sheep shearers and the whole experience was finished in about 4 minutes. I paid him the $20 and he slammed the door behind me. Now every time I wake up that's my hairstyle for the day. I guess it's always different, but I always look like I've stuck my fingers in a powerpoint.

I go up there about twice a year. The next time I'll be there is January 16th and I'll be staying for around a week. I've got a few days off so it would be good to catch up. I love visiting that part of the world. It would be great to paddle up to Cook Island one time, or up the Tweed - you guys have so many great spots.

BDO!Both my girls 17 and 19 have attended over the years!Now that Iam semi retired and only work a couple of day's a week,mostly to help freinds in business,how about a gig?BTW Iam only 46yrs old'!I helped a mate out today mowing lawns,we mowed 14 plus the odd trim and tidy up,I will suffer tomorrow without dought! The Tweed is a great place and i would be only too happy to show you the inside to the coast and take you to some hidden places (locals only so to speak) mac
Thanks Macca, I went to one of those hidden places when I was up there in September - the lookout in Tweed and the lovely gardens that are way up there - I couldn't believe the beautiful view. I've been going up there for many years and never knew it existed.
Oliver and I took his board for a test paddle today.. ..Just wanted to see if it floats him.
It was a howling 30 knot southerly but we found a protected spot to test out the Stonker.

Oliver or DJ Can you please describe how the paddle attaches to the leash plugs? Obviously handle goes through the cord first. Does it have one strand of rope over the paddle handle, or is the loop of rope attached in such a way that two strands of rope go over the paddle shaft? I am doing one for a friend and she does not have any of the velcro attachments, so we were going to just use cord like yours. Thanks RobDog
It's just two short pieces of rope tied to each leash plug and the paddle just slides through each loop and the rope loops just stay on the board and the loops are just long enough to slide the paddle handle through.
..Just wanted to see if it floats him.
