So how does the 2015 Jav 28 compare to the 2014 glide DJ?

They are very different boards even though the new Jav is an evolution of the 2014 Glide..

Straight off it feels faster.. The increased volume in the nose raises it quicker when pearling.. and the wider tail lets you move back without feeling like it's bogging down forcing you to quickly move forward again.. You can really feel the concaves working and it feels like you can keep it planing with quick strokes of the paddle even though there is very little slope in the water.. It feels just as stable as the 29" wide Glide.. but the 1" less in the width is noticeable because it has that low drag feel of a narrower board.. I deliberately stayed forward to see what happens when the nose pokes under and it behaves itself beautifully.. I soon learned that moving back lifts the nose to avoid pearling just like the 2014 Glide.. Even though the nose pushes through the water without feeling like it's slowing at all there was a couple of moments when the nose suddenly broke free and those sharp rails at the nose caused an instant release causing the board to suddenly accelerate making it feel like a rug was pulled out from under me causing me to fall back [almost falling off the back].. btw I never fell off on both DW days.. Changes in directions is easier and you can feel the v underneath at the rear working.. I can't wait to try it in bigger conditions.. We had good wind yesterday to start with but once we got to where the waves start to get good (Elwood) the wind started to drop to the point it felt like nothing towards the end.. I'm really liking this new board..

There's nothing wrong with the stock fin but I used this red fin..

Sorry Vimeo pulled the vid.. because of a so called music copywrite thing.. [like youtube] and yet for years it was never an issue..

I'm guessing it's really because they have set up their own music shop so you can buy music from them to use.. The buggers..

That double concave bottom reminds about a windsurfboard I have owned 26 years ago: a custom Brunotti race//wave board of 275 cm with a tripple concave bottom from where the left and right concaves were deeper than the middle concave: that thing turned so easily, you could always push as hard as you could, it always stayed in the turn nicely. Acceleration was fast, topspeed was not endless. I see some of it in the new jav

Just repost it without music, and we can play our own as we watch it. Sod 'em!

I agree.. Very similar.. Everything excerpt for the unusual nose shape and lack of nose rocker..

Shame that even I don't have that vid anymore to re post it..

They (Vimeo) just recently started doing this.. (The last few vids that I've done) and usual it's yes or no from the start..

This time they said yes (like normal) .. and then soon after said no.. (like they sometimes do).. Due to music copyright..

I disputed it like you have the option to (and have done in the past.. unsuccessfully)..

Then they got back to me saying my dispute was successful.. Yeah.. and they re-allowed it..

So I deleted it from my computer (like I always do) because there was no longer a need to just put new music on it..

Then about 8hrs later the buggers contact me again saying it's been pulled again due yo music copyright..

What-the!
