A few months ago I was asked if I would like to have a paddle of the first SUP G board and I jumped at the opportunity.

Here's the post and pic .. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=42256&SearchTerms=G+Board

When asked what I thought I said great..but..It could be better.

I said that I thought that the board needs to be a little bigger if large people are going to paddle it.

The low surfing rails need to go and also the dome shape deck is also not good for stand up paddling.

Also a bit thicker and that should reduce the wobble that a larger person has when he hits chop.

So they went away and did what I asked and made a new one..a bit wider..a bit thicker..full rails with a flatter deck and the also threw on a carry handle because that was another complaint..and also a real leash plug.

The other day while passing the Sup Bus at St Kilda Phil called me over and said check out the new G board.. It's just arrived.. What do you think?

I took it for a paddle and took these pics...I think it's 10'4" x 34" wide and about 6" thick.

Dropping the board over the blue stone fence is something I can't do with my Naish..These boards are soooo durable.

Looks pretty good don't cha think.

They have this tuff black stuff around the edge of the board that acts like a bumper bar.

I wonder how strong the leach plug is.

They feel nice and soft and you can push as hard as you can and dent it but it just bounces back and leaves no mark.

The carry handle is a nice touch.

For such a big, thick and wide board they are pretty light.

The rails are now nice and full and the deck more flat.

Here's the bottom view.. It's a nice outline.

I like the squared off nose shape.

The rounded edge fins are firm but if you push hard you can flex them like this.

The board is great to paddle and soooo stable..I can't imagine it ever tipping over.

More views.

It's defiantly not a performance board like Naish and most others boards out there but as a family board or for a hire school I can't imagine anything better.
