I want some training direction but allot of resources are vague in their direction and ultimately direct towards paying for a program. It's hard to find generalised info for training sessions and rough outlines for spending time on the water.
e.g.
A few mates and I want to do a BOP in couple of months and want to meet once a week and train for it, we'll never win or be overly competitive, but want to get a base level of fitness to prevent cardiac arrest and worse, no post race beer before arriving home to crash on the couch. Do we mock a course, interval or head further down the coast and surf

Any tips or places to find info would be great. The distance stuff is easier, just paddle, paddle, paddle.
