Hi guys,
Last year I did my first Solo swim to Rotto and doing so again 2013, but have also set myself the goal of completing the doctor and associated races around it, Mandurah etc. Im looking for some advice on training programs and strategies for the Doctor and maybe some chaps to train with if someone local is planning similar, Im fit, swim in a squad, run 3-4 times a week and my paddling skills & experience are I guess intemediate, though have not been paddling for a while as I ve been concentrating on the pool, I have an SIC F-16 and plan to train and race on this.
Any takers or advice much appreciated!!!..

I see you are in freo. There is a regular training group in that area that trains 3 times a week. Contact goochi for info.

Hey Peter, as you are in north Fremantle your best bet would be to come down and join our training group that runs out of the car park on the north side of zephyrs cafe. We train Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings at 5:30 and are generally off the water by 7.

Mixture of abilities and boards from people who have been paddling less than a year to people who have been paddling for 3yrs+. Mostly 14' boards but I plug away on my 12'6 and the way the sessions are designed no one gets left behind or held back. Occasionally for our time trials we have people show up on surf sups, but they still don't get left behind, in fact we even had a surfboard catagory at our last race.
