Hey folks... Just 'accidentally' bought a SUP on ebay in Sydney and not sure how to get it over to Perth... Anybody have any experience with sending SUPs? I originally thought I could get it across on Qantas, but apparently their limit is 106", not 10'6"!

Fast Track Express Couriers have shipped boards for me all over the place and I have had no worries at all!

They are expensive however it will turn up in one piece!

Get the guy to pack it in lots and lots of layers of card board IMHO.

Speak to some of the shops over there and see who they use. You will have to go via freight, best if you can find someone with an account to put the charge on, as for non account customers the freight companies seem to really sting.

For packing, a good way someone let me know of is to cut up styrofoam boxes. The ones some fruit and veg, and fish places use. You need 3 to 4 of them for a whole board, but you know the board will get there safe.

Thanks all... Went with TransDirect, quoted $102 to deliver door-to-door from Sydney to Perth with insurance... we'll see how it goes!

DJ, bought a Ian Chisholm designed board, volane glassing with a crazy paint job that looks a bit like a rainbow threw up over it... now i've got something to do on a calm day i hope

Sweet, glad I found this thread. I want to take a 12' sup from Melb to Bne. Qantas quoted $580! Transdirect a bit better about $90
