Just wondering if anyone has any information, opinions or experience with the 'Tropical Blends' Stand Up Boards ? In particular, the Bamboo Series.

I notice a new one on eBay and I kinda like the set up and would love to gain as much info as possible other than their website info prior to committing.

Thanks.

I've heard that they're really good and I've watched Evans vids that show the board really well.

Hey mate - have a look at standuppaddlesurf.net. They tend to have tried and posted thoughts on pretty much every stand up board and their posts seem to be fairly open and honest with litte B/S. I agree that the tropical blends boards look really nice and their website certainly makes them look very tempting, but $1800 is still a lot of money for a board that has yet to prove itself her in Aus. (IMO) Might be worth contacting the importer and finding out if they are available in any retail outlets so you can get a look and maybe a ride on one prior to purchase. If the boards are any good they will surely be in a retail shop somewhere.

hey mate, I have surfed on a demo bamboo series board (9'1 I think) and loved it. Surfed in conditions from 1-2 foot, up to 6ft south swell at south newport. Rail to rail it is super smooth, and I am around 88kg and 6'2 and found it pretty stable.
Depending on where your located if in NSW, let me know if you want to try one out. Sam (sam111) has some she can show you. Hope this helps..

I've got the Tropical Blends 10'9 "Luana" and 11'7 Moku and they are both really good boards. A friend of mine own the 10'6 Kai'ee.

TB boards are well build and light. The decks has a slight dome like a surfboard would have except for the 11'7 Moku which has a scooped out deck for a lower center of gravity and an island of foam towards the front of the board to maintain volume. The island is hardly noticeable though.

Check out some of the videos at standuppaddlesurf.net to see Jim (owner) club the rails of one of his sups on the rack with a 2x4!! Jim actually gave me a demonstration I was just cringing...but the board did not have a scratch!.

Hope this helps...

Aloha,

-Raymond
