Queen's Birthday weekend means monday is a holiday....should be some ok surf here in giz

Not that keen on the "queen " thing myself......am more enthusiastic about this "queen of the surf"

Pretty sad storey , but she obviousley had great spirit.Very beautifull looking lady too.

Good to learn about this. Sad story as Ttree said but sounds like she lives a pretty good life.

A sad story but a great story.

I remember being told about her when I was a kid,her and Lyn Boyer was another Hawiian at the time,but I didn't know about the cancer.My mum fought off cancer too,from when I was about 15 till I was a bit over 40,sorry I'm just a bit gobsmacked at what I've just read...On a good note,we had Pam Burridge over here in OZ and she sorted out a few ego's too.Pam was cool,but to us guys you couldn't let on,which is a bit of a shame really she deserved more respect than what she got at the time,anyway my eyes are dry again now so I'll finish of by saying I hope the spirit of Rell travels far and wide to all oceans so that we can all be blessed by such a wonderfull soul.

It looks like she had heaps of mana shining out of her for sure ....have read those links a few times & there's always something new.......Hawaiis first female lifeguard !!! Took surfing to communist china !!!
