The Vicco State SUP Titles was held in smokin clean conditons at Point Impossible.

This year there was both a men and a womens division. A big thank you must go to Ema Webb for assistance in ensuring a Womens SUP divison happened. Kristi and I can't thank you enough!

Womens Open
Congratulations to Ema for winning the inugural Victorian SUP Title with Kristi coming second. Ema was too good on the day taking on bigger waves and securing longer rides. I know they were both stoked out of their minds to get the whole of inners to themselves in perfect conditions. Who wouldnt be!


Mens Open
In the Mens Division after the SUP Trial and the Heats the final ended up being won by Wil Cousins, 2nd Cameron Lamperd, 3rd Tobias Kleehammer, 4th Greame Briggs (Sparkx) 5th Scott Hargreaves.

Wil Cousins was the standout pouring on classy powerful cutbacks and some really radical turns and mixed in some nose rides for variety. After seeing him at Noosa we all knew he would be in the top 3. Congratulations Wil a fantastic win.

Cameron Lamperd shreaded on his borrowed DC 8'10 ( Rich reminded him where he found it) on one wave showing true shortboard style and flexibility ripping all the way into the rivermouth, we though he had gone home for lunch back at Harwon Heads.

Toby Kleehamer on the Walden 9'6 was really firing and was a stand out in his heat up against Sparks, they were going neck and neck. Sparks just had more variety but it was the best i have ever seen Toby SUP.
In the final Toby pulled the walden into some awesome cutties but just didnt have the herbs to mix it with Wil and Cameron.

Sparkx killed them in his heat with cross paddle turns, one in particular that almost defied gravity, he managed to get the board back around and just made the turn staggering everyone. He just didnt quite have the mojo in the final but he put presure on everyone to the end.

Scott Hargreaves got some nice waves but didnt have the bag of tricks on the day. I am sure he will be back next year.

Surfing Vic is taking 4 SUPers to Nationals the top 3 out of today and they are leaving option 4 open TBA.

Bloody whippersnappers!
Maybe next year we will have age divisions and I can surf in the over fifties!!!

A couple of Photos taken during the final on Sunday. Apologies to the others in the water as my good mate Ant Stephens took these and just passed them on tonight. I figure he thought he owed me after he snaked me unmercifully in the semis. As we're both from the same smallish town we said we'd look after one another in the water. With five minutes to go I'm in fourth and he's in third, he's just paddling back after a nice little wave and I'm setting myself for the next one coming, in what had been a wave sterved heat. What do you reckon he does? Straight to the inside, spins and calls me off. Classic!!! We had a bloody good chuckle over a hot coffee in the car park afterwards.
