OK, so here's a little more info.

Membership will be $50, which includes a once off $10 joining fee. So your 2nd year renewal will be $40. New members will get a membership pack which will include information on the club, insurance details etc plus some goodies.

We will have a website which will have:
- information on up coming events, local and national
- local and national SUP news
- a SUP locations map with pix & descriptions of each location (Vic only)
- webcams
- sponsors links
- online or printable membership

We will be working on a calender of events incuding social days (flat & waves), downwinders, demo days and social events off the water

I will update news & progress a little more as we get things rolling.

whoohoo,another contender for the australian heavyweight sup title .good on you guys,with this sort of progress sup will unite and get some real cred.come on you other states,its pretty easy to set it up.just form a club with a president and secretary and treasurer get enough starters for the money required,about $300.incorporate with dept fair trading in your state,get your certificate and send it to your state branch of surfing aust,bingo you have a sup club.queensland now has 2 with a possible 3rd in the making,boardbumps is thinking of how to do it long distance on the north coast nsw(rod have meetings via email it works)ps hassle your state surfing branch for a state supsurf title event at the state longboard titles.

This will mean that members will also get a discount to the Mambo in November.. That itself will pay for half the membership fee..

Thanks for all the hard work that you've put into this.

We should all consider ourselves pioneers in this great new sport and being apart of it from the beginning is very special.

I can see heaps of social events in the future for us lucky Victorians.. and that insurance thing is something that we all should have... Great stuff!!

State of Origin ..... National Comps ........ anything is possible ....... What I would hope happens is that all Presidents of the various clubs do start talking to each other so they can unite and front Surfing Australia as one voice so to start the ball rolling for some of these events to happen.

Bnaccas, even more impressive,mate don't try and do it all on your own, I know there would be many willing amigosto lend a handRodriguez.

That’s great news and cheers for taking the lead on this! We (as in Stand Up Paddle Boarding St Kilda) are super keen to get involved at all levels. I assume you are setting up a committee across Vic?

Obviously the flat water races and surf events are a key aspect. We would be interested in incorporating the Port Phillip Cup race and I would think SHQ would be interested in doing the same with the Cerberus paddle.

The other key aspect to forming the club should be working with the councils and gov departments. Number one on the agenda should be the classification of the sport. There were a few people over the summer approached by the water police for not wearing life jackets. According to MSV there will be some rule changes addressed in the near future and these changes will impact kiteboarding and a few other sports. The Vic Supping community will need to work together on a plan and the formation of an association/club is perfect! Great work!
