Across the top of the bay today on the 4th of July.. The strong west wind died and swung back to the north making us paddle across the swells.

Glad I was on my 17.. I headed off towards the end of the run just to get some good runners in and finished about a kilometer or two downwind from my car.

I had to do the walk-of-shame back upwind to my car but it was worth it..

Some nice runs there. Where did you start from? The board nearly got air borne right at the finish.

We started from just past Altona beach and headed for PT Ormond.. Once we got close to Elwood I headed off to get some runners and landed at the south end of Elwood beach.

Anyone get out there yesterday DJ?

I went down to Werribee South on the way to the Zoo and it was so windy the bay looked liked snow.

Unbelievably cold and soooooo windy.

I was glad to get back on the plane yesterday arvo and back home.

Not sure.. Pete rang early to see if I could join them but I couldn't make it.. I saw that we got 35-45 knots at times but a bit of an awkward DW direction for us.

Jonathan and the guys were doing the Altona to Sandy run today and this Saturday is also looking good.

The Zoo?.. You should have popped into 'The Zu' sup shop at St Kilda.. ... Jeeez.. It's been freeeeezing down here.

I drove 15km to StKilda to do an early ins and outs before work but the offshore wind wasn't producing anything in the way of waves worth getting out of the car for. As DJ says, that W-NW is an awkward direction. There really isn't anywhere on the east side of the bay that gives you any protection to paddle out or even get the board off the car.

Maybe you should have stayed home to do those ins and outs..
