I have last years naish glide with the nifty ledge handle which now appears to have water inside of it! If I shake the board I can clearly hear water sloshing around inside the handle. Its been there for at least a week now and doesn't seem to be dissipating. Ever since I noticed this I've been storing the board deck side down in the hope it will come out.

I assume the handle is hollow and holding the water away from the boards core? Any thoughts on what I should do?

Hi Longdog,

You have nothing to worry about in the way of the foam taking on water, the handle maintains its own enclosed box compartment.

Its seems that you may have a small crack in the handle somewhere. Leave it in the sun for a while and spray some soapy water in the handle to see if you can see any bubbling in the soap... this will indicate a crack.

SOLUTION: Drill a small hole on the ridge in the centre of the handle and let the water drain then seal the hole and potential crack/edges with black waterproof Sikaflex.
