Yep, the thing I didn't like was the thickness of the shaft. But I guess that's the trade off with having it adjustable.

Phil any paddle will feel heavy after using a Kialoa Methane..

I really like the adjustable Kialoa and even though the alloy shaft is a little heavier than the non adjustable carbon shaft the thing that I like the most is the feel.. The flex.. The size of the shaft at the lower hand and the size of the shaft near the T grip..and also the shape of the T grip makes it feel very much like the carbon Kialoa.. Also the blade is very light so the swing weight is reduced heaps.. Unlike the alloy Naish that felt like you were swinging an anvil on the end of the shaft.

I'll bring mine down to OG on the 13th if anyone wants to try it.

it just make you appreciate your carbon paddle no matter what it is

i use the jungle adjustable paddle in my school

at the moment they are holding up well

and they cop it from the high school sport crew as i'm always catching them using them to hit rocks and each other

Me neither but I'll give it a try. That Werner video is the second time I've seen it mentioned.

It might be too fiddley to try and dip only half the blade when starting to chase a wave but it can't hurt to try it out.

i would have to question if you are paddling hard for a wave would you really be thinking oh better make sure i'm half dipping. wouldn't be better to just have a smaller paddle for surfing

Yes ... and no.

Part of me loves having the right gear and the more toys the better.

The other part loves the ease and simplicity of SUP and the fact that I can go somewhere and know that my gear is going to work just fine no matter what the conditions are.

One of the more frustrating things in SUP surfing is paddling away like a mad thing and feeling like you're not moving as the wave bears down. If I can improve the feeling of SUP by a acquiring a new technique then that is a good thing.

BTW. Anyone want to buy a 9'6" surftech longboard? I want to move it on so I can buy more toys.
