I don't know about all these new fandaneled paddle shapes coming out for Sup's .I'm only new to the sup revolution but I have 15+ years experience with outrigger paddling and the most efficient paddle I have found for Sup's is a good outrigger paddle with a longer shaft. If I had to pick one it's the Quick Blade Kahana with it's dihedral on the front and back and the kick on the bottom of the blade gives clean entry and exit with a great catch. When you are on the wave you also get great response from the blade head . The C4 is also good but it doesn't have the same catch at the front of the stroke and the exit isn't as clean because it's flat on the back of the paddle(no dihedral)

I think too much science is getting put into the paddle heads , a good paddle has a clean entry and catch and you pull yourself forward without ripping a hole in the water and the exit is clean. A good comparison is the olympic rowers , watch there blades they go in and pull the boat past the point of entry and they come out clean , this is the most efficient form of paddling.

If you're surfing or paddling a down winder just change your stroke rate when conditions change you don't need different paddles.

I'd like to see a pic showing the face side because Werner are well known for their dihedral..I wonder if these have it?

My new Kialoa paddles have no dihedral so it would be interesting to see if Werner have done the same.
