Every now and then you find something that is a bargain if your a bush mechanic and have a little bit of vison.

This was a Sony Waterproof light weight housing that I purchased for $5 in an OP Shop tonight.

It was set up for an older Sony Hi 8 Cam but as I have a background in electronics engineering, some tools and a older digital video cam and too much time I converted it to a full function housing for myOld Panasonic Cam.

I tired it in the laundry trough and hey presto works like a dream.

I doubt it will take a trashing in big surf but it will be a bit of fun!

Hope to test it tomorrow night, we will post a vide or be drying out a cam PSML.

It may get a run at mambo as well!

I had a sony vid camera with the same housing, for skydiving, I never used it in water though, I thought they were only weatherproof and not water proof.

Well the housing spec says its fine to 5m and I have checked all the seals etc, I have taken it down to 1.5m in the spa tonight and still no leaks.

If I kill the old Digi Cam no bigi

Well its not big really, this is the custom made Wills housing for my other cam, I have had this baby to 67m on the wrecks off Torquay!

This sucker is big!

Phill.
