Hey Casso, Von Piros etc,

Every time up load image files on Seabreeze even NEF files they appear to get significantly compressed and become soft.

My images can be printed at 2m+ pin sharp.

Any hints on the up load format for this site??

No expert but maybe try resizing to a specific size but keep the quality setting at Max.

If you resize then the site won't need to and the image should remain the same. If Seabreeze it really crunches it.

It seamed to work for me with some pix I could be bothered resizing before uploading.

Thanks Brendon,

I have tried the resize option and all the usual tricks but really that does not appear to help on this site.

Thats why I am wondering how the compression is done.

Export them from your photo programme the correct size first (as a jpeg) so they don't need compressing around 500kb

On the web jpg's are best for photos. gif's or png's are best for graphics.

For the sharpest photos when saving in jpg format don't compress them - ie keep them at 100% quality. Compressing them reduces file size and quality. Resize photos as others have suggested - otherwise they will be auto resized.

Oliver just a quick correction....all Jpegs are compressed.
You cant have a Jpeg that isnt compressed. and its lossy
compression as you mentioned, only tiff allows you to
compress a file and not lose quality.
