What were the other grips you used Mac and what was the problem with them? I'm interested in grips too.

Hey Brad,

This is the Grip we just put on Kristi's board and it works really well.

I am not really sure what brand it is but it sticks really well and is great under the foot. We now have it on all our boards. No issues in a little over 8 months with this type of grip.

Session told me to heat the grip sligtly with a hair drier or a heat gun just before it you put it on and this seemed to work a treat. We also used a roller to drive out any air bubbles and that seemed to work well.

When it comes to designs lol we are great at straight lines.

Phill

Hey brad, If you give the guys at Shapers a call you can get a sheet of grip 2 metres x 800mm, it's the same grip pattern as Creatures and same glue 3m. I think they only have one style/colour (green, white and grey camo), cost $110, you can thgen cut it to the outline of your board.

I would rather not comment on the open forum,pm me if you wish.
I just don't think the old grip debate needs to be aired again, and Im not into brand bagging.

I've used the grip from shapers on my last 2 boards ....good stuff easy to work with if you want to do a design and you get a lot for $110.

C4 grip is also one of the best... and the Creachers of Leasure grip is also good if you like your grip a bit thiner.

Phil, this is Blane's PSH grip. It comes in sheets, die cut or off-cuts for the 'ultimate traction'

Lots of idea in this thread on the zone-

So far, zero dramas over the last two years. Its the goods!

The trend here in Hawaii is a "mosiac" style. Basically taking a deck pad and cutting it up into patterns such as triangles, squares etc.. Blane Chambers of Paddle Surf Hawaii swears by this style, relating that it vastly improves your grip on the board. I have recently done this on my new PSH WR. It felt a little odd at first, but now that I am used to the feeling, it really does give you better traction. It should be noted that this style of pad would suit a rail to rail type surfer. If you have a more longboard style, the regular pad might be sufficient. Check out the Stand Up Zone site under "ultimate deck traction" thread. Unreal pictures! If you are artistic, the sky is the limit on the designs you can make!!

brad i use the Creachers of Leasure grip with the raise sides i like it, its great for a narrower board or a board with a rolled deck as of the raised sides you can get a wider stance when needed right out to the edge and it makes a board with a lot of deck roll come back to a flatter platform

OAM (on a mission) by far the most comfortable and efficient grip I have ever used. Comes in enough pieces to perfectly customise to any board and has the top of the range 3m adhesive. Check out a recent post of mine re my new laguna bay (about a week ago I think) for a piccy of the oam grip on it. From my experiance and personal opinion there is not a better sup grip around. (and they are reasonably priced)

I second what AA says-I have used Creatures on 2 boards and it has come up here and there (with less use) and the grip that is in the photo above ('Blane's grip') is great-no sign of it coming up at all (with a LOT of use).

The sky is the limit with design .The one bit of advice I can give is cut strips 50mm wide and then cut them at 45 degrees no waste and it all fits. Or go the simple circles.
