Hi Crew
I am looking for a short board style SUP. I have a 11 footer that I love but time has come to go shorter.

I'm just under 6 foot and 95kgs and ride a 9'6" Paddle Surf Hawaii Wide Ripper (some photos just posted titled SUP trip, goofy footer). My mate is riding a 9'9" Mano by Jimmy Lewis which I liked also. The Starboard 9'8" is good for that size if like the rounded nose. Lots of options really but you will need to persevere as what ever you get it will take a while to get used to the reduced volume and tippiness. I still wasn't entirely used to my board after the trip featured in the photos.

All good pics.... the Corban 9-6 is a good volume board so is the Naish 9-6 , if you don't see what you like just go custom.

Same. Good board for your size in a wide range of conditions. I am 6' and weigh just under 95kg's. I went down from an 11'6" and find it hard going in choppy conditions. I dont get out on it often but every time is a little easier, still think i chose a great board, it will always be a better board than i can use. I reckon you could choose almost any board and be happy. If you are that way inclined, you could also probably find fault with almost any board.

Thanks for the input. I won't bang on like others have about try this and try that, I think I will buy 3 or four boards to make sure I get what I want. I will be hitting the buy and sell any minute.

I'm just under 6ft and weight 95Kg. Currently I'm riding the Naish 9'6 Nalu and loving it. Also ride the Naish 9'3 as a short board.
Other boards I enjoy are the Coreban 9'6 or 9'0 (depending on skill level), and the Starboard 9'0 x 30.
However I agree with OG: Demo, demo, then demo some more

i am 193, 92 kg and i just bought a Coreban performer 9,6..coming from a Naish 11,4. I am stoked about the finish and craftmanship on this board, it paddles great and floats me well...
i thought about getting a dedicated flatwater board, but since the Performer works so well i probably wont.

You can go as short as you want, just talk to one of the many local shapers. At 114kg, only way I got on a 9'0 was through doing a custom. Next is sub 9'0.

6'1" and was 95KG - the Naish 9'6" is ideal. I'm also fine on the 9'3" Naish, and a 9'3" PSH as they've got float. Did borrow the *board 7'10" or whatever it was and was ok paddling around on it.

I guess what I'm saying is there's no simple formula for working out board size - you need to try some!

Good luck and change down ASAP - it's great on a smaller board
