I'm getting frustrated that I now have a board but no wetsuit and the conditons are PERFECT !

What type should I be looking at for a Perth winter. I'll get a steamer but 3'3, 4'3 doesn't mean anything to me !!

Any advice? I get cold all the time !!

Yeah, everything's perfect EXCEPT for the waves... we only recently had a storm come through, yet the banks are already tending back towards summer standards of straight handers! [}:)] Yep, definitely go for a steamer, but you won't need anything more than a 3x2 (3mm body, 2mm arms). The numbers are the thickness of material basically. Anymore than that and you'll be carrying excess material/weight in you suit that you don't really need for Perth waters in the winter, especially if you're buying new. I got a West Enforcer at the beginning of winter. Cheapest model amongst the well known brands, but it provides great warmth for Perth winters. I get Raynaud's phenomenon on a regular basis, so I hear you with the cold. Since wearing the Enforcer, I haven't had Raynaud's occur once. But if you've got some money in your pocket, there's always the top of the range O'Neill Psycho. But you don't need anything more than 3x2.

Im a coupla hours north of you but I would try a set of xxx short sleeves first if you can. As long as it keeps the wind out you will be ok.
I just find it so hard to paddle in a steamer or springy no matter how good they are IMO Most will go the steamer but its not for me.

Thanks worrier. I think a springy would be too cold for me now. I think I may be a reptile really !

I used my Radiator 3/2 all this weekend. I wore a rashie under it and a hat and was warm as toast.

I got a little cold after getting caught on the inside and duck diving under a few waves but warmed up quckly once I got paddling again.

This was down the south-east coast of Vicco so it should be way colder than anything you would get in Perth.

I had my Rip Curl 4/3, which is much warmer, but that thing takes days to dry in winter. It was easier to just use the Radiator each day.
