A couple of weeks ago, I borrowed a G-Board from Shaun Ward (WSUP - thanks) and took it up to the Goulburn River. The section we were paddling was the whitewater/slalom training section in front of Blue Gums Caravan park - not huge rapids, but loads of water being released from Lake Eildon upstream.

I paddled in moving water for three days, and gave myself the aim of surfing one of the main waves on the bottom rapid. It was excellent training, especially for stability, as the board was constantly being pushed and pulled in unexpected directions.

If anywone is looking for a new, fun and challenging way to experience SUP then head up to a flowing river near you! For Victorians, the Goulburn is sensational!
