I bought the FSC fin box adaptor for the rear fin on the Sunny Set so I can run the board as a thruster , have you tried this ?

Thanks session... On our 9-6AA's we run the same as above or even the 7.5 Future Albacore Flex centers with FCS GX sides when we do the 2+1 thing. Fins are a real preference thing and everyone likes a different feel. The key is learning how to find the right combo for yourself and your ability. Technique is also an important part of making a board work to its potential.

I haven't but when Tom Carroll was here we put an adapter in the 9-3 Ripper he used. We had to tap it in but it fit loose and we had to shim it. He used it the whole time he was here. I personally don't like those adapters as they are really flimsy and the screw system doesn't seem to lock the fin in really tight and super solid. Best centers are glass made for mal type boxes... I like a 5" center most of the time but some guys like the 4.5" better. I also have some guys just killing with 6" centers and the Sunny sides... It really depends on the individual, how well you surf, what feel you want, how's your technique, etc etc...

Hi Blane, thanks for the vid, I learn alot about how to use the paddle when I watch you ride with sucker cam - awesome!

I know fins are a personal-preference thing - but I would really like to know what other riders are using on the 9'10" ripper.

So far I have used 7.0 centre & the old GL FCS sides. I also tried some M3 FCS sides - What size are the Sunnys?

I will try a 5.0 & 4.5 but I need to understand the physics/dynamics....

When you drop down in size on the centre fin do you compensate with bigger sides & is the reverse true of using 2+1 - do you use bigger centre & small sides ?

Cheers for your help Blane, keep posting on here and fuelling the fires,
