nose has been pulled in as the tail. gone for a blocky type rail with a bit of a tuck, added 20 mm of tail kick rocker, but kept the nose and middle rocker for speed and paddling out ability

yeah, no worries. just might add, i've always backed some of the naish range- the 9'6" quad and the naish 8'10 is a land mark board imo

Hey Mac,

Then I am a sales rep too, DC's 9,4 is awesome and even avid PSH / Surf Shapes and Naish fanatics have to agree it kicks ass. The spped these boards generate is simply rediculous. I find it hard to get it back after people demo it.

If I have to pick a board to seriously blow it up in big conditions hand me the DC it takes your surfing to another level no ****.

My perfect 2 board quiver:

PSH 12 Gun

DC 9'4

Done Deal.

hi phil, i'm trying to work away from the fish concept. the rounded squares pull the tail in quicker, but still give me some tail area and i think it will work better with a more rockered tail. i'm not a fan of shortboard fishes and this direction is a natural progression for me coming from a shortboard background. how's that for a lot of hot wind gas bagging about bugger all

Love the outline and the rocker looks spot on; the only change I would make would be to thin out the tail.

Oh and add a foot and a half to float my fat arse

These thick-ish tail DCs look wrong - work unreal. The extra buoyancy back there allows them to maintain speed through carves because the tail doesn't sink and bog. It gives you something to push against with your back foot. It's one of the reasons why these boards are so fast - IMO.

Now I'm sounding like a DC salesman.

Might work in smaller waves not sure on solid stuff makes it harder to dig in on the bottom turn when at warp factor 9

one of the reasons why i went with a more blocker rail was because my other thinner rail dc blogged a bit and got lost a bit in foam.might make a point of saying when it came of the machine i asked for the tail to be reduced a bit more, hence the tail rails ended up a square-ish and it did make me a little edgey. no problem so far. also, in fact it is thinner than the standard tail, but looks thicker because of the squareness. there is strong line of thinking that the tail's should be thin, but dale pointed out, most of the shortboard pro's have a block railed tail's on their boards
ps out of all the dc 8 10 i have tried, this is the most stable. the deck is pretty flat and that the way i like em
