ive had a few comments by people at the beach on the psh 8'9 ripper comp.the general remarks are that is just a bigger shortboard. the way hp sups have gone i think the same taking into account some beefed up areas on a sup that have to be. got me thinking a good shortboard shaper after a few goes at doing them and riding them too would be able to put out a good sub 9' hp sup, but is the market there??? any thoughts
cheers
ps oopps that 8'9 not 9'8
G'day Lacey
Yep Woody Jack is a surfer shaper & a Master Craftsman - makes a really good SUP that looks just like a short board his boards go unreal. I've had 4 SUP's of Woodys already 9'6'' 9'0'' 8'8'' 8'6''. When I come back from Fiji in late September I'm going to order a 8'4''. Just watch Woody Jack & his best mate Kairan surf the Woody SUP's they rip on'em these two blokes would rate in the top ten SUPers in Australia! I heard you got a Woody once Lacey, that blue SUP & then changed the FCS plugs fins setup on it & wondered why the SUP would not go, sorry Lacey but what were you thinking? Wrecked a really good SUP there.
Dale Chapman is a surfer shaper his 9'0'' SUP's look like they surf good.
Sam Egan is a surfer shaper & a weapon of a Master Craftsman rated the 2nd best shaper in Australia and shaped boards for 36 of the top 45 WCT surfers. Now thats telling you something! You should watch Sam Egan shape a SUP called the Magic Carpet they are a good SUP that surfs well. Sam was going to shape me a Magic Carpet SUP but the company Sam Egan was working under was f###ing me around that's how I came across Woody's SUP's. I spewed not getting a Magic Carpet SUP cause Sam is a personal friend and has been shaping all my boards for the last 35 years.
see ya in da ocean
