I am in a fortunate position (sometimes, if iv'e mowed the lawn etc) in that, my 2 dogs and son need walking and my obliging missus, drops me at a start point on her way to walk the dogs at the finish point, text message at the end of the run if it doesn't go to plan and she picks me up. (iphone in a waterproof pack)
today I was a bit short on brownie points and my young bloke was not feeling to good. so no joy with the usual.
so was trying to arrange a 2 car shuffle, one person leaves a car at the end point, the other person picks them and their board up, drive to the start point, then do the opposite at the other end, (or a variation of that if you have more people).logistically down winders are a nightmare, but so worth it.
I pretty regularly do a woody to south freo run when the wind is right and credits are up, so stay in touch, would be nice to have someone else to at least tell people how big the shark that ate me was.
I try to do tranby on tues, thurs and sat as well.

Hey Kranki,
whats the woody to south freo run like? looks good on paper, is it all wind chop no cross swell. Must get a bit messed up around crazy waves?
Cheers

shunter, hilly hit the nail on the head, its a good run if you can get dropped off or have a car you are not to stressed about, nothing but a towel left in the car ( i haven't actually ever been broken into there, Rockingham, point Peron, port beach and leighton but not woodies)
Ideally leave the good cars at south freo by the yatch club and take the beater to woodies, park behind the cockburn cement jetty and paddle up the lee side of the point, to get your angle.
as far as cross swell goes generally not much, IMO not as much interference as you get on the port beach run (less fetch though so runners are generally better at port),but depends on the weather, crazy waves is not really happening since the marina went in good runners over that area. southerly is the best
friday arvo might be ok if your keen.

Thanks,
I never had a problem at woodies in all the years I have kited there, like you say nothing but a towel left in the car, leave glovebox open etc..
Friday I am planning on kiting, but yep keen for a downwinder from woodies at some stage.
cheers
